since our time in AL is coming to an end and since we haven't been on a trip in awhile, kevin (aka our travel agent) found a place just outside of atlanta late on thursday nite. i woke up friday to him saying, "pack your bags, we're going on a trip!" here we are at Lake Lanier; a beautiful HUGE lake w/ a very nice resort hotel, villas to rent, campsites and smaller homes complete w/ hot tubs on each deck. we stayed in the hotel-PTL ethan finally slept all nite in his pack n play-and actually got to relax a little. good trip, kevin!

this was actually on our last nite at the resort. who knew driving a golf cart around could be so much fun! both eli and myah got to 'drive' (on our laps, of course)-we saw deer on the greens-we laughed our heads off (kids and me) watching daddy attempt to catch a fire fly for eli. he caught one pretty easily for myah-but it had gotten so much darker when getting one for eli that, well, it was just a funny sight seeing him leap/reach out just after he'd seen one light up/go out. thankfully myah is a good share-er, cuz eli never got one of his own! good try kev!

on saturday, we woke up to an overcast sky, chiiiiiiilly temps and thunderstorms in the forecast. forget the on-site water park that drew kevin to coming here, eh? so we headed out to find something indoors-y/kid friendly...and here we are at the Cabbage Patch General Hospital...um...here are a few pix, and i'm gonna just keep this short and sweet...big, beautiful 'hospital,' yes...but um...it was basically JUST a gift shop inside. hmmm...

maybe even a little disturbing? see the dolls' heads poking thru the cabbage leaves?

what was i thinking? myah doesn't even play w/ dolls! she was more interested in the candy machine! kevin and the boys went and played out on the big front porch after seeing everything in about five mins. sorry guys! not so fun, not so fun at all. and it was about a 40 minute drive, ouch! i guess having my own cabbage patch (leslie rachelle, in case you are wondering :) back in the day-made me think this would be fun...um, not so much.

here's a pretty view from our balcony. you could hear the waves crashing against the rocks after a big ole fast boat zoomed by, pretty cool!

and of course we hung out at the little playground area just outside our building!

does this baby look long or what?

here's where a lot of weddings are held, on the gounds-again, just outside our building. nice!

strollin along the grounds...

fire fly numero uno of the trip...as daddy teaches them to pull the tail off so it'll stay lit and stay on your finger the whole time. yes, i think it's mean (to the insect), but loved the kids' excitement.

what's a nite in a hotel w/o snax, jumpin on the beds and staying up late?

after our cabbage patch 'adventure,' the sun came out and warmed right up. so back to the lake where their very own water park was. too bad the water was faaaaareeeezing!

the waterpark had a GREAT kids' area as well as a big ole wave pool, several HUGE slides coming from out of the trees, picnic areas, volley ball pits, etc. would be a GREAT thing for kids older than ours! but still fun...ethan just needed a nap and the water just needed to be warmer, that's all.

there's also a little beach area at the water park. emphasis on 'little.'

oh and watch out for the hammer head sharks at the lake!

sweet miss myah outside the hotel.

there were literally hundreds of boats, but b/c the lake is so stinkin huge, it never looked congested. i highly recommend coming here for at least a long weekend w/ several other families/friends and renting a boat (if you don't already have one) as well as a big ole lake house...fun times!

here's just a view from the golf cart, over looking a golf green w/ the lake in the back. ahhhh. nice!
we checked out of the hotel on sunday and went into atlanta to hear Dr. Charles Stanley preach at his church. wow! i was almost a little star-struck but then reminded myself He's only a seasoned follower of Christ, not Jesus Himself! but it was really neat to see and hear him in person. i love his delivery; he's calm. he's knowledgeable. and dang, he's old! but never once did my mind drift. okay, so maybe once-when i was scoping out the congregation. suits, dresses, pantyhose, high heels; we had ourselves some pure-dee southern baptist church going on! (as i wore a v-neck/sleevless shirt, capris and flip flops!) can you say a liiiiiiittle outta place?
Love seeing your little ones! They are beautiful!!! Miss Myah is getting so big!!!
