well hellooooo everybody! i only have a few minutes (i feel like that's the story of my 'spare time life' these days), so this is gonna be short. we got to our new home in virginia at the end of june and we're about 98% settled, ahhhh-i like the sound of that! anyway, no major things to report other than our 'exit' from our home in AL and our 'entrance' to our home here in VA:
here's how the last few minutes were spent in AL...
me: "honey, are you ready for me to lock the door?" (keep in mind all keys to this house were left inside for the owner, so we had no keys on us)
kevin:" yeah..."
me: "you don't sound so sure..."
kevin: "i'm sure. lock it, we're ready to go."
me: "click(lock) and bam(shut)."
kevin: as the 'bam' sound from above was in process, "WAIT!!!! my wallet and computer are in there!"
okay, i won't type the exact wording of the immediate conversation (ha!) but i will tell you that one hour and $40 later, we got in, got kev's things and hit the road.
fast foward just FOUR days later when our friends had all three kids (allowing kevin and i to do some unpacking of our household goods, THANKS MARLARS!)...
we dropped off the kids, grabbed bfast to go at BK and hurried to our new home to make some progress. there wasn't so much of a back and forth conversation b/t kevin and i this time, but yes-we were locked out AGAIN! altho this time, it was about an hour and a half and $150 later! welcome to VA, right?!
as is everywhere across the US, it's hot and humid here. we are enjoying our house, meeting fun neighbors on the street and stinkin AMAZED at the traffic, the traffic lights and the minutes spent sitting at all the lights!
kids are great. here are a few pix for now. one of these days during nap/quiet time, i'll sit down and catch up from father's day and the 4th of july and whatever else takes place until then. thanks for your patience!
