Grandma Betty's birthday wish (it's on thurs aug 12th) was to go to the National Zoo. yea! fun! but suuuuuuper hot! (100 degrees and lots o humidity!) thanks to the tom-tom (gps) and Jesus, our prayers of getting there and back safely w/o problems was answered. i've never even been to DC-and here i am DRIVING IN IT!
we were sitting on a real bear (rock)!
ethan was actually in the middle of shaking his head no when i snapped this. i'd asked him if i could take a pix of him. ha! and of course as soon as i turned off the camera, he said 'cheeeeese.' silly boy!
this was pretty interesting; these guys were about to fight. one stood up and beat his chest. then they just stood there like this. then one dashed inside, w/ the other one right on his heels, grabbing at his foot. wow! no idea what happened inside...
this was cool. these orangutans were crossing over the main walkway of the zoo!

ADVENTURE #2...if you have no idea what's so big about this place (much like myself til about a week ago), watch DC CUPCAKES on TLC friday nite...

met up w/ some fun friends on friday nite. not sure who had the most fun; kids playing or adults watching kids having so much fun. their daddy caught a crab-kids gathered around-myah was just about to hold it, but decided it was too scary so she dropped it-it ran-kids ran, screaming. we laughed so hard. fun, fun-to-quick nite.
